This equipment enables us to provide your pet with the best dentistry services. Senior Care As pets age, their health needs change and may require more frequent monitoring. Progressive Veterinary Services is able to diagnose medical problems earlier by providing in house diagnostics. Many diseases can be better managed if detected earlier in the disease process. Diagnostics Progressive Veterinary Services has in-house blood analyzers by Idexx Laboratories. These include the VetLab Station, Procyte Dx hematology analyzer, Catalyst Dx chemistry analyzer and SnapPro. The use of these analyzers in clinic gives us results in as little as 10 minutes so we can quickly and effectively diagnose and treat your pet. If necessary we have the ability to send out special testing to Idexx Reference Laboratory. We also offer digital radiographs. Digital radiography reduces radiation exposure to pets and staff because it results in fewer retakes necessary (the image can be manipulated in our software system). Digital radiography systems also requires less radiation per exposure to produce a higher quality radiograph than film-based systems do. These images are then easily accessible and can be reviewed by the doctors with clients in the privacy of the exam room on our high definition computer screens. Surgery We offer advanced surgical techniques and technology. Patients receive careful screening and testing prior to surgery. Patients are monitored by highly trained CVT’s for safety throughout every procedure. The following are included in our surgical services: Blood pressure monitoring Electrocardiogram (EKG) and oxygen saturation monitoring Capnography/SPO2 Monitoring Intravenous Fluid Therapy Intensive care after surgery Surgical and Therapy laser Surgical laser: Unlike steel blade scalpel-based techniques, there is no mechanical contact with the tissue when the C02 surgical Luxar laser is used. The CO2 laser removes tissue with a highly focused infrared beam: the rapid absorption of laser energy instantaneously ablates the soft tissue target area and, at the same time, seals capillaries, small blood vessels, lymphatic’s, and nerve endings, with pronounced benefits for both surgeon and patient. This reduces bleeding and nerve pain and has an overall positive benefit for the patient’s pain management regardless of the surgical procedure performed (spay, neuter, declaw, growth removal etc.) Therapy Laser: We use a Class IV Deep Tissue Therapy Laser by Companion Therapy Laser. This provides a surgery free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and speed healing. The therapy laser can be used post-operatively once the surgeon has closed the incision for all procedures except certain growth removals. Therapy laser is very beneficial for pets suffering from arthritic conditions such as degenerative disc disease, degenerative joint disease, hip dysplasia, arthritis, and a number of dermatological disorders. Therapy laser uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissue without damaging it. Laser energy induces a biological response in the cells called “photo-bio-modulation”, which leads to reduced pain, reduced inflammation and increased healing speed. The laser light is delivered through a noninvasive hand-piece to treat the affected area. Your pet may feel a gentle and soothing warmth. Most treatments take a mere matter of minutes. |
