Chenier’s gallery exhibits only exceptional quality artworks by artists who show nationally and internationally. Chenier Fine Arts is the only fine art gallery between Winnipeg and Toronto. Debra celebrated 5 years July 13, 2012.At opening in 2007, Debra represented 40 established and emerging Canadian and international artists. Today the diverse collection showcases over 250 original artworks by 80 artists. Debra is a second-generation art dealer/custom frame shop owner. In 1964 her parents Jean and Denis Chenier opened the first fine art gallery in Northwestern Ontario. Debra grew up in the family business surrounded by original art by prestigious artists such as the Group of Seven, James Wilson Maurice, Alex Colville, Henri Moore, Salvador Dali and Marc Chagall. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alberta. Debra has over 40 years of experience working in the fine art, framing, furniture and decorating businesses in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Montreal, Edmonton and Victoria. Debra’s gallery offers an impressive variety of contemporary art styles and subject matter. Debra shows a wide variety of art sizes and specializes in oversize paintings and artists who work to commission.
