When you visit Santa Fe you will discover that it is not only a true tri-cultural community it is also one of the top three art centers in the United States and home to critically acclaimed Santa Fe Opera. There are several events throughout the year that draw visitors from all over the globe: Spanish Market and the Folk Art Festival in July, Indian Market in August (the most highly attended of the annual events) plus art openings every week and award-winning music and theatrical venues such as the Lensic Threatre near the Plaza. On the Plaza itself, you can browse for jewelry offered by Native American artists under the portal of the Palace of the Governors or shop in the world-class retail establishments offering southwestern inspired clothing, furniture, jewelry, rugs . . . it's a shopper's paradise all located within a few blocks around a beautifully landscaped central Plaza.

In addition to great cultural offerings, Santa Fe offers an abundance of outdoor activity . . . snow skiing in the winter, white-water rafting in the spring and summer and rock climbing and hiking year round.

Visiting the many Indian Pueblos is a fascinating adventure for visitors and locals alike, especially on special feast and dance dates throughout the summer and fall. North of Santa Fe you will find San Ildefonso and Santa Clara just south of Espanola and Tesuque, Nambe and Pojoaque just north of Santa Fe. Further north is Ohkay Owengeh and Picuris and just outside the town of Taos is Taos Pueblo, one of the longest continuously inhabited structures in the United States.

Several of the Pueblos host casinos between Santa Fe and Taos and along with gambling, offer entertainment, fine dining and buffets as well as hotel accommodations and convention facilities.
