 About House Detectives Inc…

House Detectives, Inc. came into being in an attempt to help people buying and selling homes make the best possible decisions they can with the available information.

Having been involved in various capacities of the real estate industry since the mid 1980s, home inspections come naturally to Jay Gorder.

Over the years, he's bought and sold rental and spec real estate, managed and maintained commercial and residential rental real estate, sold real estate as an agent, and owned a 400+ unit rental management company.

about-photoJay has learned many lessons in buying and selling real estate, some the hard way, and doesn't want others to make the same mistakes. Jay understands real estate construction, sales, maintenance items, and the emotions that accompany anxious buyers and sellers. Trained by the ASHI school of property inspection, Jay meets or exceeds the ASHI Standard of Practice at every inspection. As the only inspector currently at House Detectives, Inc., Jay inspects every house as if his daughters were the buyers. If Jay thinks his daughters would want to know about a finding, then he thinks YOU should know about it also! After all, we work for you, our client. If you're not happy, then we're not happy!

When you hire House Detectives, Inc., your home will get a thorough inspection. From the foundation to the roof, and everything we are required to look at in between, we will be thorough. We will generate a report, and discuss the findings with you. We encourage our clients to join us during the inspection when possible so you can see first hand what we are looking at. From the first contact with us through the inspection report delivery and explanation, you will experience the ultimate in professionalism. In the end, it's about discovering problems... BEFORE they become yours!
