Twenty Five years ago I had begun my journey into the contracting and remodeling world. While all of my friends were passing me by to head off to the local swimming pool, I was on scaffolding removing mortar from every brick on a three story home by hand. The job was to replace all existing mortar with new cleaner mortar. I was working with my grandfather at the time and I was in seventh grade. I went on from there to work with my uncles for a number of years both remodeling and building homes from the ground up. We dug and filled footers, poured concrete, and kept on going until it came down to scrapping the sticker off the windows, final clean up, and finally the sale of the home. I took a break to go off and get a graphic arts degree and later in my life obtained a mortgage and real estate career.
