First Canada Inns (Cornwall) is owned by Jim and Brenda Heritage. They run a 19 room Inn in the City of Cornwall. Office hours are from 7:00 am to 12 midnight, and the phones are answered 24 hours a day. Jim's experience in resort management can be traced back 30 years when he ran a property in Buckhorn, Ontario for his parents. In the intervening years, he built a successful real estate career, where he specialized in resorts and cottages. Jim returned to the hospitality industry in 1992 and managed a couple of resorts in the Buckhorn area (just north of Peterborough). Brenda is a graduate nurse who has been involved in the hospitality industry as well as volunteer work in Peterborough. In 2004, Jim and Brenda decided to become property owners, and stumbled on this unique property in Cornwall, Ontario. The couple have since renovated the rooms and grounds and have made strong connections in the local hospitality sector. Jim is now on the Board of Directors of Cornwall and Seaway Valley Tourism and Brenda is Treasurer of the Women Entrepreneurs of Cornwall. They are also members of the Cornwall's premiere business organization, the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce. First Canada Inns is a small chain of motels in Eastern Ontario. In addition to the Cornwall location, there is another location in Kingston. First Canada Inns is an approved property of the CAA and AAA with a 2-diamond rating.
