Homeowner's Insurance

The insurance you buy for your owner-occupied dwelling is referred to as Hazard Insurance by your mortgage company. A homeowners policy generally will provide you with a package of coverage: dwelling, other structures, contents (your personal property located anywhere in the world), loss of use, guest medical & liability coverage. Many policies are able to be written at "replacement cost" so that at the time of a claim you will have no depreciation deducted from your claim payment. All policies will have a per occurrence deductible ($500 or $1,000 is common for most of our Agency's customers). Sewer & drain back-up, identity theft, earthquake - many optional coverages such as these are available to be added, so PLEASE call your agent to discuss! And remember - the homeowners policy is only available to owner-occupants of the dwelling. Once the occupancy of the home changes you will have to review the new situation with your agent to ensure that at the time of a future claim you will be covered. Insurance is non-transferrable; therefore, if ownership of the house changes you need to give us a call! We are here to help you & are glad to have the opportunity to review your changing insurance needs with you!
