The philosophy of Creative Crayons Preschool is based on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, who dedicated her life to creating an educational philosophy that would nurture the lives of children and provide them with a system of education designed for their developmental needs and interest.

Thank you for visiting our website. My name is Tisha Hitchcock, AKA Miss Tish :)

Creative Crayons Preschool has been in the making for a very long time.  In my minds eye, in my heart and now in reality. 

Through my years of being an Early Childhood Educator it has become evident to me that children are creative crayons in the making. Creating colours of their choice as they explore new experiences in their little lives. 

Children are captivating, funny, aware of their environment, honest and brilliant. 

Why Montessori?

For many years I have been fascinated by the Montessori Method and when my family and I moved to North Bay Ontario I finally had the privilege to work in a Montessori Program at the Montessori Children's House in North Bay Ontario. This is where I saw children working first hand with Montessori materials. What a magical sight watching children repeatedly going back to the materials they love, working independently, working together to problem solve as well as learning about their world around them.
