Safeco Insurance

Safeco was established in 1923 by its founder Hawthorne K Dent. Dent, who strongly believed in competitive pricing and disciplined underwriting, led his company to computer automation in 1953 to compete with direct insurance writers of the time. By the late 1990s, Safeco had doubled its agent force by acquiring American States Financial Corp and by the early 2000's Safeco had earned profits in excess of $300 million. Progressive Insurance

Progressive was established in 1937. Since 1937 Progressive has become one of the largest and fastest growing insurance groups in the US. According to Progressive, a total of $14 billion in premiums was written in 2006 alone. Progressive says that much of their success comes from independent agents and brokers who provide unmatched benefits such as: advice and personal service, a choice of products and insurance rates from competing insurance carriers, and customized policies that meet individual needs. Mutual of Enumclaw Group

Mutual of Enumclaw was established in 1898. Their sole priority at the time was to insure farm and village buildings and personal property against loss by fire and lightning. In 1947 Mutual of Enumclaw started writing non-farm properties and casualty insurance in 1948. Mutual of Enumclaw's home office is located in Enumclaw, Washington but they also do business in Oregon, Idaho and Utah. It is Mutual of Enumclaw's Mission Statement to provide financial security by keeping their promises and they have done just that. Sublimity Insurance

Sublimity was formed in 1896 by Charles Hottinger as the Farmers Fire Relief Association of Sublimity. Sublimity's home office is located in Sublimity, Oregon which is just south of Salem. Sublimity first started operations from its president's house and continued operation in that house for 71 years. It wasn't till 1967 that Sublimity built its new home office. Over the years, Sublimity has expanded from Oregon to Idaho and down to Utah. In 2003 Sublimity merged with a local company called United Heritage Financial Group. For more information click here.

Austin Mutual Insurance

Austin Mutual was founded in 1896 as the Farmers United Township Mutual Hail Association of Minnesota. Austin Mutual was established to provide coverage for crop hail and farm windstorm insurance. In 1914 Austin Mutual moved its home base of operations to Minneapolis, Minnesota from Austin, Minnesota. Currently, Austin Mutual provides insurance for nine states including Idaho. Austin Mutual says that their success is a result of financial strength and it is their mission to build value and security the lives of their policyholders by sustaining a profitable growth oriented organization. United Heritage was established in 1934 as Grange Mutual Life Company to provide affordable live insurance to members in the Washington and Idaho area. United Heritage is a local Idaho company with its headquarters in Meridian, Idaho. Since its beginning, United Heritage has expanded to several states in the US and in 2000 made its first acquisition, Idaho Mutual Insurance Company.
