David Andrews’ career as a Mortgage Planner spans over three decades. His current affiliation with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation was from the determination to align himself with a company that has the highest standard of service, speed and satisfaction. Year after year, David has continually ranked as a top producing mortgage originator and branch manager. David’s longevity and stability in the market place have earned him a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable, credible and honest mortgage originators in Colorado. He has taught mortgage origination at the Community College of Aurora in cooperation with the Colorado Mortgage Lender’s Association, of which he is a member. He strongly advocates for the education of originators and consumers to make the mortgage process smooth and easy for all involved. David has obtained the designations of Certified Mortgage Lender (CML) through the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association and Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) through the CMPS Institute. He also graduated from the Future Mortgage Leaders program through the Colorado Mortgage Lender’s Association. David is a charter member of Lenders Who Care, a national organization of loan originators who have a passion for making affordable and sustainable home loans that make good financial sense. Over the past few years, David has obtained financial services licensing with a series 6, 63, 65, life and annuity licenses. The additional knowledge gained from these studies enables David to take his clients through complete mortgage planning process while considering their overall financial objectives. He is also a Certified Reverse Mortgage Planner, helping seniors make the most of their home equity in retirement. David was born at Travis Air Force Base, CA, to Lewis and Betty Andrews. As a military “brat,” he moved often while growing up – at least 11 times in 15 years. He has lived in 8 different states, as well as France and Japan. Some of those younger years were spent at the Air Force Academy in neighboring Colorado Springs, which gave him the desire to settle down in the Denver area where he has called home since 1979. After attending Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, for a degree in music composition and performance, he spent the mid- to late 70s and early 80s performing as a professional vocalist and percussionist. To this day, David remains involved in many musical endeavors, which include playing with his four-piece band, “Band of Brothers.” His favorite wintertime activity is skiing and in the warmer seasons, he enjoys cycling, golf, motorcycle riding and horseback riding with wife, Yvonne. David and Yvonne reside in Salida, CO, and have three grown children – daughter, Kailyn, and identical twin boys, Stephen and Taylor, all of whom live in the Denver metro area. |
