Hi! My name is Jennifer Caie and welcome to my page! Here’s a little bit about me and how all this began.

At a young age, I decided to start oil painting. I lived in the foothills of Alberta at the time, which provided me with beautiful places to explore. I learned from anyone who was an artist… reading, studying and doing. My dad even rented a room to a now famous artist, so I sat at his feet learning all I could. Curiously, I took Music Theory in college, then headed to Banff School of Fine Arts. But, young and in love, I married instead! Work led us to Northwest Ontario, which changed my view. Thirty years and counting, I continue to paint and develop my technique.

My husband and I have three boys, who helped me slow down and see the tiniest details of nature. We have explored Canada’s Northwestern Ontario by foot, canoe, kayak, and bicycle.

Inspired by natural wild places, from the smallest flowers in the forest to the majestic rocky outcroppings, I strive to capture the moments.

Commissions welcome! If you have a favorite place or memory bring a personal photo (not a "borrowed" one) and I will create a painting according to the dimensions and price you wish to spend. I paint impressions of your place, or realism.
