1964 - Founded as a proprietorship“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Jay’s Moving & Storage Ltd. began as a small family owned and operated trucking proprietorship in 1964. Back then, there were just a handful of employees and a small fleet of trucks. Under the leadership of our enterprising owner Dennis Doehl, we have grown into three key services: moving, freight and storage. Jay’s now has 11 full-service offices and warehouses with a staff of over 400 in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Our huge modern vehicle fleet includes over 600 trucks and trailers. We have become one of the largest household goods and freight transportation companies in Saskatchewan. 1970 - Joined Atlas Van LinesIn 1970, Jay’s became an agent of the world class Atlas Van Lines system. We’re proud to say that we were one of the first moving companies to receive their “Quality in Motion Award” (in 1993). Over the past 40 years, the quality of Jay’s transportation service has transformed us into one of their largest independent agents and earned us many sales records. Our affiliation with Atlas Van Lines gives us access to a network of over 650 movers across North America. 1978 - Pioneering freight service in SaskatchewanJay’s purchased a general merchandise freight operation servicing four towns in the Saskatoon area in 1978. A year later we established the first ever overnight general freight line service between Saskatoon and Regina. Currently, Jay’s Freight Division is equipped to meet all shipment and route challenges. We also offer seamless interline connections within Canada and the United States and provide freight service to over 435 locations in the province of Saskatchewan. 1989 - 25 years of quality transportation and warehousingBy the time Jay’s celebrated 25 years in 1989, we had acquired many moving and freight companies and expanded our offices in the Prairie Provinces. We became one of the original investors in the Atlas Van Lines container program with the purchase of 38 containers, a program that continues today. Our acquisition of Regina Cartage & Storage expanded our commercial warehousing capabilities. Always - Giving back to the communityWe’ve always wanted to give back to communities we do business with. In 1992 Jay’s held the First Annual Telemiracle Golf Tournament in Saskatchewan and raised $4100 for the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation – the total to date, after our 2010 tournament, is over $650,000! Jay's takes joy and pride in donating time, money and efforts in the service of those who need our help. In addition to corporate sponsorship and fundraising, our employees are actively involved in community events such as the MS Bike and MS Walk, the Santa Claus Parade, and as well, belong to various community service clubs. Recognized in the Transportation IndustryFounder Dennis Doehl celebrated his 60th birthday and 35 years in business in 1999. His untiring commitment to quality transportation was recognized in the form of the Trailmobile Service to Industry Award. That was just the beginning. The turn of the century saw the launch of our Web site. It also brought more recognition for our efforts at providing superior freight and moving services. Since then, owner Dennis Doehl has been inducted into the Saskatchewan Transportation Hall of Fame (2004) and Jay’s Moving & Storage Ltd. has become one of Saskatchewan’s Top 100 Companies and is recognized among Regina’s Top 50 Companies. Now - Over 46 years of Service!Jay’s Moving & Storage Ltd. continues to expand its moving, freight and storage capabilities in order to better serve our customers. We have grown in size and our service quality has grown with us.
